March 26- Emporia, KS

There is a newly updated storefront in the 300 Block of Commercial Street in downtown Emporia. This Friday, March 29th, the owners and staff of Mark II Lumber are excited to invite the public to an open house for their new showroom, Mark II Cabinets and Flooring. From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. community members can stop by 329 Commercial Street and view newly updated floor displays and speak with staff about design and installation options.

This new location will act as an ancillary location for Mark II, with their primary location remaining at 825 East 6th Avenue.

“Our goal is to be another great local destination for kitchen design, bath design, residential flooring, and commercial flooring,” said Aaron Trelc, Owner. “The new location allows Mark II to offer approximately 1800 square feet of on-trend cabinetry and flooring in a new spacious showroom.”

The new location is also freeing up space at Mark II’s 6th Avenue location.

“By moving the flooring displays to the new showroom, we were able to use that floor space at the Lumber yard to expand our hardware offerings and to set up an expanded area that includes samples of siding, stone exteriors, shingles, interior doors, exterior doors, decking, railing, and windows,” explains Trelc.

Since 1968, Mark II Lumber has serviced Emporia and the surrounding communities for its homebuilding and home improvement needs.

Owners and operators Stan Grimwood, Luke Schnakenberg, and Trelc have taken strides to expand the business’ capacity. Two years ago, Mark II Lumber partnered with True Value Hardware, giving the company access to much more inventory than it had before, increasing options for in stock items and special orders.

Mark II Cabinets and Flooring will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Customers are encouraged to walk right in, or they can call 620-208-1280 to set up an appointment.

“Emporia Main Street is excited to see a new generation of entrepreneurs and developers purchase and rehabilitate a building in downtown Emporia,” said Casey Woods, executive Director of Emporia Main Street. “This building can function as more than a showroom; it can showcase the expertise and products from Mark II as they facilitate remodels downtown and throughout the region.”
