The 4th Annual Emporia PRIDE Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 22rd at 6pm. The parade will launch from the circle drive at Emporia State and will travel South to 7th Ave.

2024 PRIDE Parade

Presented by the Emporia PRIDE Celebration

Parade Rules and Guidelines are a combination of local regulations and information designed to keep all our participants and spectators safe while still having an enjoyable time. Please make sure you read and adhere to all Parade Rules and Regulations. We may be required to deny entry to any party who fails to follow these guidelines.

Registration

All entries are asked to complete the registration below. The Emporia Pride Celebration does ask that any businesses or organizations participating in the parade pays a $10 registration fee (individual walkers or bikers do not need to do this). All fees will go back to covering costs associated with the event.

Please make sure the person registering for the event checks email regularly. This is how communication will be sent out to participants.

Special Requests

Any requests for specific placement or special needs during the Parade need to be requested in advance. If you have a special request, please email the Parade Committee at [email protected]. All requests are subject to approval by the Parade Committee.

Personal Safety

• Please make ALL entry participants aware of the possibility of heat exhaustion and/or stroke hazards associated with marching and participating in the Parade.

• The Emporia Pride Celebration does not assume or accept responsibility for the health, wellbeing, or safety of any Parade participant.

Alcohol and Illegal Substances

• Parade participants are not permitted to consume any alcoholic beverage, nor use any illegal or controlled substances on any part of the Parade route, staging or de-staging areas.

 Participant Dress and Behavior

• Please remember that this is a family friendly event. The Emporia PRIDE Celebration Committee asks that all Parade participants show respect for all sexes, ages, races, cultures, creeds, and sexual orientations.

 Item Distribution

• Items may be distributed to Parade spectators by a person who is handing them out along the Parade Route- DO NOT throw items to Parade spectators (we don’t want specters running into the parade to pick something up).

• DO NOT distribute any sexually explicit or sexually suggestive materials.

Extreme Weather Policy

• In the event of extreme weather, including but not limited to monsoon wind or rain, The Emporia PRIDE Celebration Committee reserves the right to cancel the Parade. This announcement will be made no later than two hours before the scheduled Parade time.  In the event of a cancellation, Parade fees will not be refunded.

Animals

•All animals shall be leashed, harnessed, or otherwise restrained throughout the Parade, AND BOOTIES HIGHLY ENCOURAGED! The pavement can be hot, so please protect our furry family members!

•If you have animals as a part of your entry, you will be responsible for providing a clean-up crew for those animals.
