Controller Job – Emporia, KS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen and technical accounting skills.

Responsibilities:

– Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

– Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

– Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy

– Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes

– Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain effective internal controls

– Collaborate with management to develop annual forecasts

– Review and approve journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and other financial transactions

– Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management

– Assist with financial statement audits and tax filings as needed

Skills:

– Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices

– Knowledge of SOX regulations and experience implementing internal controls

– Proficiency in accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation

– Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data

– Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

– Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
