FT Shift available 6:00am-4:00 pm 10 hour shifts x 4 days, every other weekend

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director, the Nutrition Services Cook is accountable for cooking and serving of prepared food for hospital patients, visitors and employees.

The Essential Functions:

Reviews menus to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups and desserts to be prepared
Have the ability to do simple math
Prepares food according to recipes adjusting recipes as necessary as patient census fluctuates
Assists on patient tray line. Provides age-specific foods per patient menu and has knowledge of all types of patient diets
Accountable for proper care and use of department equipment and food materials to ensure that loss is minimized
Maintain adequate supplies of foods
Completes daily and weekly assigned cleaning duties
Skills and Abilities:

High School graduate or GED required
Prior health care food service helpful, but not required
Previous supervisory experience helpful, but not required
