Get into the Spooky Spirit at the Library!
The air is crisp, the nights are longer, and spooky season is upon us! This October, the Emporia Public Library is excited to announce a lineup of eerie events and festive activities for all ages. Whether you're a fan of spine-tingling stories, festive crafts, or literary legends, we've got something for everyone to enjoy.
Chills and Thrills Book Club – October 18, 6:30 p.m.
Prepare for a night of suspense and excitement as we dive into bone-chilling reads. Our Chills and Thrills Book Club will discuss What Kind of Mother by Clay Mcleod Chapman. Pick up your copy at the library today!
Día de los Muertos Craft – October 25, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. & October 26-27, 1-5 p.m.
Celebrate the vibrant traditions of Día de los Muertos with a special crafting event at the library. Stop by any time on October 25 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. or October 26-27 from 1 to 5 p.m. to create your very own festive decorations. Supplies will be provided, and all ages are welcome.
Trick or Treat at the Library – October 26-31 (During operating hours)
Put on your favorite costume and head to the library for some trick-or-treating fun! From October 26 to 31, we'll be handing out treats during operating hours.
“Poe Me a Cup” Edgar Allan Poe Tea Party – October 30, 6:30 p.m.
Adults are invited to an evening of eerie elegance at our Edgar Allan Poe-themed tea party. Enjoy tea, light refreshments, and partake in some gothic activities. Don your darkest attire and prepare for a night of literary chills.
