Press Release!!

For immediate release!!!

As organizers of the area St Baldricks foundation effort to fund research to find cures for Childhood cancers, we have been closely following legitimate news sources and Government agencies for direction on how to proceed with events of public gathering. We have received the following counsel from the St. Baldricks foundation.

“Dear Volunteer Event Organizers,

All of us at the St Baldricks Foundation have two priorities right now – your health and curing childhood cancers.  We’ve been closely monitoring developments of the COVID-19 “coronavirus” and we pray for those who are ill or lose their lives too soon, and fervently hope breakthroughs will come quickly to save lives.

Undoubtedly you have received questions about your event, and we thank you for your leadership and patience as we work through many considerations.  Since St. Baldrick’s events take place in vastly different venues across 30 nations, we cannot issue uniform guidance appropriate for every event.  Instead, we’ve been working with event planning committees to determine which approach best suits each local community or organization.

This is a rapidly changing situation, and it differs widely from one community to another.  We hope that people will attend and support the events if it is safe, and we encourage those who are sick or who feel safer doing so to stay home.”

We have been watching to see how other area

Organizations have responded to the information available as of late, and agonizing over the decision.

Many of our volunteers and our honored children who are battling cancers have compromised immune systems, and we feel holding this event as planned poses a real threat to their health.

It is therefore with a heavy heart, that we announce that a postponement of our signature head shaving event is warranted.

An announcement on a rescheduled date will be forthcoming.

We encourage you to continue your individual fundraising efforts and we thank you for your continued support of this life changing cause over the past 10 years. We wish you all health and happiness.

Sincerely,

Travis Hitt
