Grant Opportunities – One local and one regional grant workshop may help set area organizations and communities up for successful projects

Two grant workshops recently opened for registration that can help organizations and communities seek funding for related projects. Utilizing alternative finance is important as we seek to build a better region, and accessing funds through workshop training is often an important component of solid community programming.

Let’s talk through the two grant workshops and provide you with the ability to sign up!

First up is the Kansas Rural Health and Prosperity 101 Workshop.

This workshop will take place on April 8th and 9th in downtown Emporia, KS at the Emporia Granada Theatre.

The basic agenda includes:

Day 1, April 8th 9:30 – 5:00, will include presentations on what is available:

  • State Agency and Partner Funding Opportunities
  • Community projects presentations
  • Resource booths to speak 1-on-1 with presenters

Day 2, April 9th 8:30 – 2:00, will include grant support and resources:

  • Foundations panel moderated discussion
  • Thinking beyond the grant: What are other funding strategies?
  • 2 rounds with 3 concurrent breakout sessions, topics will include,
  • Important Tips for Writing a Strong Application and Applying for Funding
  • Working with Foundations
  • Technical Assistance and Resources
  • Opportunity for community conversations

Target audiences include:

  • Health & Social Services Providers
  • Community and Economic Developers
  • Community Foundations
  • Non-Profit Organizations
  • City Commissioners
  • City and County Staff
  • Main Street Programs
  • Faith-based and Community Leaders
  • Bankers
  • Community Champions

At the workshop, agencies will share valuable information on grant opportunities to support your community and organization, as well as discuss application best practices. If your agency or community is looking for funding opportunities, this is the workshop for you.

The second opportunity is the 2025 Kansas Infrastructure Summit

The 2025 Kansas Infrastructure Summit is set for Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 9 AM to 3:30 PM at the J.O. Sundstrom Event Center in Lindsborg, Kansas. 

The basic agenda includes:

The Kansas Infrastructure Hub Steering Committee includes representatives from the Kansas Departments of Commerce (Broadband), Agriculture (Water), Health and Environment (Water), and Transportation as well as the Kansas Corporation Commission (Energy), Kansas Department of Emergency Management (Resilience), Office of Information Technology Services (Cybersecurity), and the Kansas Water Office. If your community or organization is working in any of these fields, summit attendance is important.
