Grab a passport at Emporia Main Street and Participating locations and take a tour of international flavors right here in Emporia! Local Businesses have teamed up with International Students at Emporia State University to offer you an opportunity to try some of their favorite local dishes and drinks!

Each location will be feature a menu item(s) created with the assistance of the students they teamed up with! All items will be individually priced.

Touring runs December 5th - 7th during business hours of the participating locations. Visit at least 5 locations and return your passport into Emporia Main Street (727 Commercial Street) by Dec 11th for a chance to win 1 of 4 $25 Gift Certificates! Passports Available at each location, Emporia Main Street, and the Office Of International Education starting Decmber 5th.

LONKERO (LONG DRINK) In 1952, Finland was preparing for the Summer Olympics. In order to help vendors facing waves of foreign customers, the state allowed the national alcoholic beverage company to introduce two brands of pre-mixed drinks. One of these was the Gin Long Drink (gin with grapefruit). $5

SALMARI (SALTY LICORICE SHOT) Salty licorice, or salmiak liquoice, is a variety of liqourice flavoured with salmiak salt, and is a common confection found in the Nordic countries. Salt gives salty liquorice an astringent taste, akin to that of tannis-a characteristic of red wines, which adds bitterness to the flavor. $5

MUSTIKKASHOTTI (BLUEBERRY SOUP SHOT) Mustikkakeitto is a Nordic fruit soup made from bilberries, which can be served cold or hot. It is sweet and has a fairly thick consistency. It is served either as a soup, often with porridge, or as a drink and often served with sugary sweet cream. $4
