The Emporia First Friday Art Walk takes place on the first Friday of every month from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

There are usually between 10 and 20 downtown business that serve as Art Walk Venues and host a local artist. Shows can either be pop-up (night-of only) or installation (on the walls of a business for 2-3 months).

Each month a Presenting Venue is featured on the promotional poster along with an image from their featured artist. The Presenting Venue supplies a passport prize for the evening and is the only required stop on the Art Walk.

Passports are distributed to each venue before the Art Walk and can be picked up whenever and wherever you choose to start. The Art Walk Passport includes a list of each participating business (with address), the artists being featured at each venue, and any special discounts being offered by businesses during the Art Walk.

Art Walkers take their passports around to as many venues as they wish, visit with the artists, browse through the stores, and get their passports stamped. In order to win the Passport Prize, Art Walkers must get stamped at the Presenting Venue (remember they provide the prize) as well as 7 featured venues – for a total of 8 stops.

At the end of the Art Walk (8:00 p.m.), participants may leave their completed Passport at a designated venue. Organizers will collect the Passports and the prize drawing takes place at 8:30 p.m. at the official after-party headquarters, Mulready’s Pub. You do not have to be present to win, but it would a lot cooler if you were!

If you are an artist or craftsman who is interest in participating in either a pop-up show or an installation exhibition, please visit the Artist Sign Up tab and fill out the form and pay the artist fee. We would be proud to have you on the Emporia First Friday Art Walk.

EFF never takes a commission on artwork sold. When you buy art during the Art Walk, 100% of the profits go directly to the artist.
