Due to public health concerns, the Emporia Farmers Market will not hold regular markets on April 4 and 18.  The market has been working with vendors to assemble a limited number of CSA-style food boxes for purchase.  Each box will include a pound of locally raised ground beef from Jase Hubert, a loaf of homemade white or wheat bread from Chad at Vault Meats and Cheeses, a dozen farm-fresh eggs from a variety of vendors, a small amount of produce from Wanda Myers, Bob Karr, and Delmer Hinrichs, and a sweet treat.  Other items may include local honey from Kelly’s Bees, jelly, and/or pecans.  Boxes are $25 each, and pre-orders are encouraged by calling 620-343-6555 or emailing [email protected]

The market is also working with ECKAN to supply food boxes to low-income seniors; customers may purchase a box to be donated to a senior in need.  Pre-orders must be received before 12pm on Friday, April 3.  Pick-up will be outside of Waters Hardware from 9:00-10:30am on Saturday, April 4.

Unless otherwise directed, the market will be in operation for its first outdoor markets, Friday, May 1 in Americus from 5-6:30pm, Saturday, May 2 in Emporia from 8:30-10:30am, and Monday, May 4 in Olpe from 5-6:30pm. For more information, or to learn about becoming a market vendor contact [email protected]
