Local Coffee Shop Introduces New Brew that Benefits Emporia Main Street

EMPORIA, KS- The Granada Coffee Company has extended their line of community coffees with a new 727 Blend. Named for Emporia Main Street, which is located at 727 Commercial Street, this medium roast coffee creates a unique flavor profile that pairs the sweet taste of maple and the smooth taste of bourbon.

In addition to their Red Rocks Blend, which donates a percentage of sales to the home of William Allen White, the Granada Coffee Company wanted to extend their ability to give back to the Emporia Community.

“We love our Red Rocks partnership and had been searching for another local non-profit to support,” explained Bev Beers, Granada Coffee Company Owner/Manager. “Once we tasted the new maple bourbon coffee, we knew it was a perfect fit for Emporia Main Street.”

When asked why Emporia Main Street was selected, the answer was simple.

“Emporia Main Street has always been there for us- we have been members since our first day of business,” explained Beers. “During the pandemic, Emporia Main Street was instrumental in supporting small businesses. We felt that if our local community had faith that small businesses could survive then maybe we should have faith as well. That moment alone provided so much strength during such an emotional time. It also alerted the community that small businesses needed their help. Now we want to give back to Emporia Main Street.”

The 727 Blend is now available for purchase at the Granada Coffee Company located at 809 Commercial Street. It will be offered in 8 oz bags $10.95 and 16 oz bags $19.95. And a percentage of all sales will go directly to Emporia Main Street.

“We believe that when small businesses succeed, our whole community is positively impacted. Proceeds from the sales of the 727 Blend will go into our Public Improvement Fund, which we use for a variety of downtown enhancement projects,” said Jessica Buchholz, Community Development Coordinator at Emporia Main Street. “We often work long hours at Main Street, and coffee plays a major role in our day. We are honored the Granada Coffee Company selected our organization for this partnership.”
